For this year’s Cup, we are directing our fundraising efforts toward enhancing habitats at the Musser Gap Greenway. With your support, we can bring some grassland back to central Pennsylvania, and in turn support the threatened and declining species that rely on them.
There are 10,000 bird species in the world, 115+ with the word “king” in their name, and not a single “queen” bird. We probably won’t find a new species that we can name the first queenbird, but we’re a group of ladies (Jen, Autumn, Jas and Alexa) who are looking forward to spending 24 hours together to enjoy each others’ company and the company of as many birds as possible.
Thanks for your support!
You can find more info about the inspiration behind our name in this great Audubon article: https://www.audubon.org/news/where-are-all-queen-birds
The Queen Birds are competing the County Cup and the Birding Boot.
