For this year’s Cup, we are directing our fundraising efforts toward enhancing habitats at the Musser Gap Greenway. With your support, we can bring some grassland back to central Pennsylvania, and in turn support the threatened and declining species that rely on them.
The Whip-poor-wheels team this year consists of Joshua Potter, Dave Miller, Julian Avery, Nathan Holmes, Matt Marshall, and Mik Oyler. We combine for over 75 years experience supporting Shaver’s Creek through the Birding Cup!
Ever since the “Birding Boot” category was incorporated in 2007, some combination of this group, along with various other adventurous souls, have taken to bikes for the 24-hour event. This year, as always, it will be an exciting challenge to find as many varied habitats as possible in our 24-hour bike ride, and the fun unexpected birding that happens in the “in-between” places. We also look forward to once again collaborate with birders around the world to find as many species and raise as much money for Shaver’s Creek as possible!
