About

Empower Students to Achieve Academic Success

The Student Academic Success Center (SASC) supports Penn State Brandywine students by providing essential resources for academic achievement and successful University transition. This GivingTuesday, your generous donation to The Penn State Fund for Penn State Brandywine will help us to fuel the efforts of the center, remove academic barriers, and offer students the resources, mentorship, and support they need to reach their potential.

Our Mission

At the heart of Penn State Brandywineโ€™s commitment to student success is the SASC. This center provides tutoring, mentorship, and academic resources designed to help students thrive. Your contribution will empower students by enabling access to peer mentorship, academic workshops, collaborative spaces, and essential support programs that prepare them for academic success. By investing in the SASC, you make it possible for students to focus on their studies, build valuable skills, and complete their degrees.

Why We Need Your Support

More than 70 percent of Penn State Brandywine students receive some form of financial aid, yet many still need additional support to succeed in college. The SASC bridges this gap, addressing retention and persistence by offering vital resources.

Your support will help to create a seamless academic support system, enabling students to tackle academic challenges with confidence.

How Your Donation Helps

  • Peer Mentorship and Tutoring: Your donation supports training and wages for peer mentors and tutors who work one-on-one with students in key areas like math, writing, and study skills. These peer leaders offer guidance, foster a sense of belonging, and share study techniques that are crucial for college success.
  • Academic Readiness Workshops: Funding for preparation workshops ensures that students start their college journey with essential skills in math, writing, time management, and tech literacy. These workshops build confidence and readiness for academic challenges, reducing the adjustment period and enabling students to thrive from day one.
  • First-Year Transition Programs: Supporting transition programs like first-year seminar classes ensures that students have a well-rounded introduction to University life. These programs, facilitated by peer leaders, lay the foundation for social engagement, academic readiness, and a strong sense of community.
